Top 25 of 2014: #18 - Isobel Pooley

Isobel Pooley comes in at 18th on our Top 25 Women of the year. She may not yet be a huge name, but she made big strides her career this year, as she continues to progress from the Junior's to Senior.

Isobel first and foremost broke a long standing British record on her chosen event, the High Jump this year. That record had stood for 32 years. That's a wonderful achievement in its own right but Isobel had also won Silver at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this year, as well winning the UK Athletics High Jump title. Though she missed out on the European Championships, if her upward trajectory continues, major Championships finals should follow.
Since being first featured on this page on the 23rd of June this year, she has remained one of the most popular entries hit wise on this site. And as we said before, that success and her hits per day ratio saw her finish in a very respectable position in this chart.

Here are a couple of our favourite images, then followed by two of her at the Commonwealth Games where she enjoyed success.
